Impactful mental health report

Supporting Student Mental Health Report for Newcastle University

We were commissioned by Newcastle University to design a 28-page report led by a team of clinical psychologists. The document addresses the vital topic of mental health support for students, with a specific focus on the needs of racially and ethnically minoritised students. It serves as both a detailed exploration of challenges and a roadmap for improvement, making clarity and accessibility essential to its success.

Without an established brand to work from, we developed a bespoke design concept tailored to the project’s aims. We created a cohesive visual identity, incorporating a carefully chosen colour palette, professional typography, and a suite of graphic elements. This ensured that the report conveyed its critical information with authority, while remaining approachable and engaging for readers.

The layout was designed to balance visual appeal with readability. Tables, infographics, and diagrams were used strategically to break down complex data, making key insights easier to digest. These visual tools not only enhance comprehension but also draw the reader’s attention to the most significant findings and recommendations.

The result was a polished, visually engaging report that effectively communicated Newcastle University’s research and recommendations. It highlights the power of thoughtful design in presenting complex issues, ensuring the content could be understood, appreciated, and acted upon by stakeholders.

This project showcases our ability to craft compelling visual narratives, even from scratch, for meaningful causes. The New Fat is proud to have contributed to such an important initiative.
