Solvay applies science to develop substances and materials used in many different industries. In doing so, the company brings benefits to countless aspects of daily life.
As a brand architecture agency, we’re proud to have been allied with this global business for more than a decade, acting as their in-house design department and working with them regularly.
Our support has been extensive and wide-ranging, as you’d expect with such a large and diverse company – from smaller tasks like corporate stationery design, to complex, large format projects.
We’ve updated a full set of corporate brochures, using our design skills to integrate images, technical specifications, tables and infographics. We ensured that the brochures presented a coherent look – applying Solvay’s brand to colour code different sectors for the company’s products, so that they were easily identifiable.
A key part of our work has involved exhibition design and build for Solvay’s regular appearances at business expos – from small pop-up stands to a full large-scale presence. The biggest of these events is the annual JEC World exhibition in Paris, on which we’ve worked for a number of years.
Each year we find a new style to keep things fresh, while staying true to the Solvay brand. This has involved working with highly innovative set designs. In 2019, we used a futuristic theme to design uniquely-shaped wall panels, where high-impact images were overlain with bespoke graphics.
This style was carried through all the other promotional elements, to boost awareness of Solvay’s presence at the event. We designed a mix of printed and digital elements including e-mail signatures, invitations, digital and print advertising, social media branding, website graphics, product cards and directional footprints for the floor of the hall.
Throughout, we liaised with stand builders and our clients to ensure that everything was completed on time and to the right standard. It’s a project which typifies the versatility and skill of The New Fat team.
