OUR POLICY

Introduction

The New Fat Design Limited is a women run business, operating from 40 Broadgate, Beeston. Our main aim is to create, evolve and grow brand identities. Covering everything a business needs from corporate literature, advertising, packaging, exhibition stands to websites. We recognise that in producing these materials we add to the emission in air and water and the generation of waste.  It is our aim to reduce the environmental impacts of our business and operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This policy describes how we will achieve our aim.

Responsibility
This environmental policy applies to all of our operations including management, office services, printing, delivery and procurement. Debbie Mawhinney, Director is responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented. However, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Objectives
During 2009 - 2010, we aim to:

Reduce the amount of energy used within the business for heat, light and power.
Reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Reduce the amount of paper used, adopting a think before you print policy.
Where printing is necessary printing double sided.
Assess and utilise suppliers of print (where possible) and other related services which can
demonstrate an environmental policy and supply of sustainable or recycled raw materials such
    as paper and ink.
Give some experience back into the industry by offering work experience placements.
Help companies which are smaller than us (sole traders) by paying on quicker terms.

Targets
To achieve our aims, we have set ourselves the following targets:

Ensure employees receive training in good housekeeping and understand this policy.
Find a charity to give mobiles to at the end of contract.
Objectives and targets to be monitored quarterly and reviewed annually.
