THE NEW FAT TURNS 20
To celebrate our 20th year we are planning various activities throughout 2019, boosting awareness and raising money for charities, discounting some of our services and generally having some fun. We will be updating as we go – so keep checking in and watch as the checklist gets ticked off!
JANUARY saw us work on YMCA Derbyshires Sleep Easy
leaflets, fundraiser leader board and info graphics as part of the TWENTY FREE HOURS of DESIGN time donated to the cause.
FEBRUARY we offered TWENTY percent off our usual logo
MARCH Debbie and Lyle SLEPT ROUGH for a combined time of TWENTY HOURS, getting involved with the YMCA Derbyshire SleepEasy on the 8th March. With all your amazing donations Debbie and Lyle raised an incredible £382.50. The Sleep Easy event as a whole raised a whopping £48,894.98! Well done to all involved.
APRIL we donated TWENTY Easter eggs to a local charity – HOPE Nottingham, who work with local churches and community groups to serve those in need in neighbourhoods all around Nottingham.
MAY Suze ran her legs off in the It’s Grim Up North trail RACE, raising an awesome £250 for Rumbletums Community Cafe in Kimberley who need to raise £200,000 to buy the premises and keep the project running.
JUNE saw us donating TWENTY PAIRS OF GLOVES to Stonebridge City Farm. http://www.stonebridgecityfarm.com/.
JULY Phoebe made a glass bead necklace with the proceeds going towards sponsorship of Le Loovre, an alternative gallery space at Surface Gallery. Making the necklace involved melting the ends of glass rods in a torch flame and wrapping the molten glass around metal rods. If you would like to buy the necklace head over to Folksy.
AUGUST sees The New Fat team getting a bonus day of annual leave.
One of our Graphic Designers Jamie, is aiming to get 20 people to sign up to the NHS Organ Donation list. Something that is very important to him as his own father has just celebrated the first anniversary of receiving a Liver Transplant. For the full story and more info on signing up please CLICK HERE. Jamie will also be making a £20 donation to the British Liver Trust as they continue to do incredible work to improve liver health and support those affected by liver disease and cancer.
